Social model of dyslexia and social enterprise and empowering, inclusive and positive way forward

The social model of dyslexia

We must change how we think and talk about #dyslexia and being #dyslexic.

We must challenge a negative medical model narrative around #dyslexic as it has nothing positive to say to #dyslexics or about #dyslexia.

The social model of #dyslexia and social enterprise is a positive, empowering and inclusive way forward with my  organisation #Dyslexia Pathways CIC.

We say #dyslexia #vivadiversity that reflects diversity #vivaladifference that celebrates difference.

Back to my early bass playing days

Me and the guys in one of my early bands.

We had a lot of names. Many we ripped off like Fat Freddies Cats.

Others were just daft like the Four Corners of the Hall.

This is us jamming and relaxing in our basement studio The Hole.
Loved my upside down Ricky bass. We practically lived here lol.

It was actually the heating room for a swimming pool. But to us in was our Shanghai lol.

Unique Dyslexic web site 6th birthday and call for help

Unique Dyslexic web site menu page graphic
Good day to you all hope everyone is keeping well and keeping safe

I was going to shut down my Unique Dyslexic web page last week. I had been wrestling with this decision for a good few weeks. This year, this month in fact is the Unique Dyslexic 6th birthday by the way.

The main reason I was wrestling with this decision was was my university dyslexia work basically stopped must be 7 weeks ago now. My wife and I had also been advised to isolate because of our pre existing conditions.

Last week I finally gathered up the courage to contact Toolkit websites, my site provider, to inform them I wanted to close the site down. I just didn't have the cash to keep it open any longer.

However, my Unique Dyslexic site has been given a stay of execution. Toolkit has given me an additional three months so I can keep my web site open.

I am pretty sure that after the three months I will still not be in a position to pay to keep my Unique website open because of costs.

My choices and call for help and ideas:

  1. To find somebody to host my web site.
  2. Or see if I can find a benefactor who would donate the £360 I need to keep the Unique web site open.
  3. To ask for any advice on other possible options I may not have thought of.

Anyway that's enough for this blog please share and leave a like.
