Seeking advice

 

Hi all

Anybody recommend 17" laptop, pref i7 processor. Wanted for my university dyslexia work and creative work, podcasting, blogging, vlogging, film making, photo editing etc. My current laptop is on its way out. Think I can raise £1000 for it.

 Hi blog readers hope you are all feeling fab

The worst thing that happened to the #DyslexicCommunity was the medicalisation of #dyslexia and the defining of #dyslexia in terms of deficits, discrepancy and disorder #DeficitsDisorderDiscrepancy. I call this the 3D model which is about a 3D as a blank sheet of paper. 

It has nothing positive to say to dyslexics about being dyslexic. If fails to recognise the fact that it is our dyslexia unfriendly society and education system that fails us. We have tried this medical model and it simply has failed us and is still failing us.

 

#dyslexia = #diversity within humanity and in nature 

#dyslexia = #different minds not minds with a disorder or a discrepancy or a disorder

We must change how we think and talk about being #dyslexic.

If we don't we will continue to fail our dyslexic kids today and the next and then next and future.

That is why I support and promote the social model of dyslexia that tell us its about diversity and difference. That is why my organisation is a social enterprise.

That is why I believe dyslexia is about diversity and difference
