I had the cateract removed from my right eye 20.02 26, road to recovery.

Me at home after my cateract op lol, looking handsome as ever lol

Hello, all, hope you are all keeping well.

I had the cateract removed from my right eye 20.02 26. Its 01.03.26 and this is my first blog since my cateract op. The photo is me when I got home after my cateract had been removed. It really was not painful, just uncomfortabe and awkward as I already struggle to see out of my left eye due to my stroke.

The operation took about 30 minutes. Have to say my legs were a little wobbly so I had to be wheeled out of surgery and rest for about 30 minutes. Needless to say I struggled to see very much at all.

Took about 3 hours for my eye to reopen. Then my sight was quite blurry and weird colours . I have to take drops in my eye for the next month. I cannot bend down, lift anything to heavy as it may impact of my new lense. Taking  easy and me do not compute lol.

Its going to take about a month or so to recover barring any complications. My long vision has imprpoved, colours are brighter and images clearer. But its still quite bright though. But I already have difficulty with light in general before my op.

I have a cateract in my left eye which, even though, it was  damaged by my stroke last year, I will get it removed as well. I call my left eye my 8 bit eye. I can see out of it but its a bit like an old 8 bit compter.

I did a little dyslexia work on Wednesday, only an hour or so but I enjoy my work.

Anyway, thanks for reading, please leave a comment or a like etc. Maybe share as well. That way I dont feel like I am not just blogging in the wind lol. When I am up to it I will make a new podcast from this blog.

Update and progress with my mini stroke and dyslexia news

Dyslexia is not about disorders, discrepancies and deficits its about diversity and difference

Dyslexia: a difference that reflects diversity
Good day to you all hope everyone is well,

First, a little update on the mimi stroke in my left eye.

Its about one year since I had my mini stroke that made me lose about 70% of my sight in my left eye.

I can't really recall the exact day or time. All I know is it happenned. But it must have been sometime around this time in January last year.

I call my left eye my 8 bit eye. It will never recover. There is nothing that can be done to repair that eye. Lucky enough I can still see pretty well with my right eye. I have been passed fit to drive. I went though a period of grieving for my loss eye sight.

It has made it more difficult to compensate for my dyslexia, My good eye gets tired more easily when I am reading.

When I was going through all the medical examinations on my sight as a whole They found baby cateracts in both my eyes. Not enough to interfere with the sight in my right eye as it is now. But it will not go away by itself. So i have decided to get the cateract it my good eye removed. This will happen some time in March 2026.

I could leave it for a while until it impacts on my sight in my right eye. But, I have decided to get it done as soon as possible. There are risks involved but they are small risks.

There are risks involved it I do nothing. Had a chat with my wife and decided to get it done.

I am accessing support from the RNIB, Royal National Institute for Blind People.  I am involved with a weekl chat group and getting counelling, both over the phone.

Dyslexic news:

Today I went into Heriot Watt University to pick up a new laptop for my work. It came with a lot of new assistive technology helpful for my dyslexia. My own Windows 10 laptop works ok but it just not  secure or safe enough to use any more.

I am going to go to the Buisiness Gateway nextweek to get advice on doing my dyslexia work online. I will look around for any possible support for disabled entrepreneurs.

I got Adobe software from the Uni included with the new lapto. So I can start recording and editing new vlogs and blogs again.

Thanks for reading;
