I dont suffer with dyslexia

It seems everywhere I turn I see the phrases suffers with dyslexia or dyslexia sufferer. There is a deluge of information and misinformation about what we, as dyslexics, cannot do. About 90% to 95% of what I read about dyslexia is negative and most of it is claptrap.

But dyslexics have extraordinary talents and gifts and can achive in all walks of life from politics to science from architecture to acting from entrepreneurship to writing. I could make a very long list of famous dyslexics which is cool.

But I have met many many extraordinary unsung people in the street dyslexics. Many who have struggled and overcome the barriers that a non dyslexic world places in front of them. However, many dyslexics still do no know they are dyslexic, many will struggle with unemployment, with reading and with writing. Its a waste of their lives and a waste to the economy.  It wouldn't take much to enable dyslexics in this position to enable them to overcome the barriers they face.

Unlocking potential

There will always be people who will tell you that something cannot be done. If we had listened to them we would never have built Stonehenge. I listened to my teachers at school who told me I would never pass an exam and to be fair I passed no exams at school. I gave up on school when I was 14 years old because school gave up on me. When I found out I was dyslexic aged 35 and was given stratagies for passing exams I passed exams from basic skills and up onward to me degree and further on up the ladder of academia. At Dyslexia Pathways we unlock potential.

so far so good

Hmm Linkedin seems interesting so far and has potential....might win some new business from that. Now sure about Twitter yet. For me as a dyslexic it all seems a little disjointed to me.

Today I am going to get out and enjoy some good weather for a while take a little drive and listen to music. When I come back I will have a look at my phone app and games design and do some more work on them.

news updates

I have been looking around for funding for training for myself and or for Dyslexia Pathways. Like everywhere else funding is hard to find in this difficult times. It gets rather frustrating as I enjoy learning experiences and working with other students as a student. Let the teacher teach me lol.

I would never have believed that I would have gained a love of learning but I have. We all have a desire to learn from birth dyslexic or non-dyslexic its a bad scene that many of us lose this at school. In my view learning is inate and something that needs to be nurtured and if this is not done we lose interest in learning.

I am going to be putting together a new plan and set some new goals for myself for this year. Some of the things to be planned for are:

Working on a new project hopefully with a university as a partner.

I have been rather remiss with my game and app design in that I have not gone any further with it but this is going to change. I have to find an artist to help me realise the app so I can go out and look for funding from potential investors.

I have to update mt web site again. Put in some of the great testimonials from people who have used Dyslexia Pathways service.

I have also bought a licence for Studyscan and have to promote that.

Putting together some new promotional material for Dyslexia Pathways seeking new business.

On a more personal note I have just completed all the music for a new cd. In needs a little work here and there but all the songs are completed.

My latest composition

a big suprise? I don't think so

Now there is a suprise yet another study telling us the gap between rich and poor in the UK is getting bigger. You have to wonder how rich have to be before they are rich enough and how poor do the rich want the poor to be. We have been told by the condems we are all in this together. But it seems to me that the poor and vulnerable in our society are being scarificed for the sake of an economy that only the rich benefit from.

if it was not so true it would be comical

I looked up the definition of dick head in wikipedia this morning and not very much to my suprise it was Nick Glegg leader of the lib dems.
Whats the definition for a group of dick heads flocking together? The liberal dem party.
Definition for a group of people who are morally and politically bankrupt and inept? Yep you guessed it The Lib Dems.
The Lib dems working together with their conservative buddy buds to serve the rich and powerful at the expense of the poor and vulnerable

Under 25s lose etitlement to housing benefit

http://www.facebook.com/#!/adam.wda/posts/3973071978506?comment_id=4191800&notif_t=like

In the UK anyone 25 years old and under who is on benefits will longer be entitled to housing benefit.

phone app and games

I am going to devote more time to my phone app and games. I am going to see if I can find an artist to help realise game characters and game environments I have in my head.

Thats my agenda for tomorrow sorted.

I have an old laptop that I was going to use for dyslexia assessments but I had a problem of lack of disk space. The idea was to take it to PC World and pay for them to reset it to factory settings. Unfortunately they couldn't do it. Today I sorted it out I just extended one disk but joining it to another. That saved me £30 for a start.  PC World told me it wasn't possible without losing all my data but I did it and lost no data.

Lesson for today don't believe everything PC Wolrd tells you lol

money money

Ringing SAAS enquiring about possible fundiing I might be able to access to pay for courses. I am currently number 34 in the queue sigh. I am hoping to find funding for neuro linquistic programming course to compliment my specialist dyslexia and teacher training. I was hoping to get onto another dyslexia focussed dyslexia masters course but we are talking £3000 for that. Sheeesh how can anyone afford to pay that?

That was a couple hours ago so far no luck sigh with finding any possible funding for training.
