students talk about their experiences as a dyslexic in education in the UK

Good morning blog readers. I woke up this morning with the idea that all I was going to do today with regard to work was upload three videos I took of dyslexic students I have been supporting this year. Then I thought wants the point of just uploading them so here I am writing a blog.

Adam talks about his experience in education as a dyslexic

Annabel talks about her experience of education as a dyslexic

I invite anyone who would like to share their experiences of being dyslexic to have a go at making their own video and share in with us on our Unique Dyslexic Facebook pages. You can make one on your mobile phone or camera etc.

Dyslexia Pathways CIC and our sister project Unique Dyslexic promote and support  the global dyslexic and neuro different community.

Our focus on creativity but we hope members can share their life stories, get support and advice and help us spread or positive message / vision.

Dyslexia is a difference that represents the diversity inherent within humanity #vivaladifference. The world would be a poorer place if it were not for dyslexic vision. Ingenuity, entrepreneurial talent, creativity, empathy and determination.

We dyslexic make a positive contribution across the whole of society.

PS: we are currently seeking sponsors or benefactors who would like to enable us to do more work for the dyslexic and neuro different communities. Dyslexia Pathways CIC was the first Community Interest Company in the world to have a dyslexia focus and we support and promote the social model of dyslexia.

In 2012 an Erasmus academic paper said this about Community Interest Companies and Dyslexia Pathways CIC.

There are numerous CICS who have succeeded in providing an intermediation function developing pathways that assist individuals with disabilities to access support to engage in academic courses and vocational qualifications.

These include Dyslexia Pathways CIC, All Inclusive Disability Consultants CIC and Acute Need CIC who have all led the way for social inclusion for those within the disabled community looking to access support to enhance and develop their skillset.

There continues to remain an urgent need for person centered planning rather than relying on generic mechanism for all types of learning disabilities.
